2009 Kemp Vineyard Syrah

Tasting Notes –The nose shows medium intensity and aromas of dark fruits such as plums, dark cherries and blackberry.  As the wine evolves in the glass, earthy aromas, cocoa powder and cracked pepper show through. Additional notes of coffee, black olive and bacon fat add complexity.

The palate shows flavors of dark plums, blackberries, coffee and cocoa, with faint pepper in the finish. Tannins are ripe yet dust and the acid lively and appropriate for food. Pair with ribeye or lamb.
